On The Road

The Boyfriend and I decided to take a road trip down the local coast road since it was a slightly sunny afternoon.

This little guy sits in our car and accompanies us on our travels. Always making me smile as he sways and bobs in the sun.

Down a random country road we found a strangely decorated tree. It was covered in ribbons, DVDs, toys and wind chimes...

Dunnottar Castle. Stonehaven's tourist hotspot!

I love the bf's t shirt... but I am biased since I bought it for his birthday.

We came home to find Jake destroying his poor rubber chicken. Ending another exciting day in Stonehaven.

Party Planning

After (most importantly), choosing my outfit for my graduation ceremony, I moved onto planning my graduation  party. I want to decorate the house and garden in pastel coloured decorations, have a large selection of sweets and cakes, washed down with some summery drinks like Pimms and Mojitos. So I turned to Pininterest for some inspiration.

As you can probably tell by now I love the colours pink and yellow.

Nailed it

I used to invest in expensive, fancy nail polishes but they always seem to go gloopy in a matter of days. So instead I have now turned to purse friendly Rimmel for my nail varnish fix.

So I thought I would let you in on some of my current favourites.

 Misty Jade

Aqua Cool

Rose Libertine

Peppermint.
And the best thing of all is when I tire of these colours I can go buy some more without feeling guilty!

P.s. sorry for the bad title pun. I couldn't help myself.

Fashion Royalty

I just got all my results back from my last ever semester at uni and one of these involved a subject where I had to style an outfit and take a photo inspired by a vintage car. I chose a car owned by the queen (centre below) so I followed a royalty theme.

I wanted the outfit to be mainly black, like the car and to be relatively plain against the fun, royal accessories. I made a mini paper crown and painted polystyrene balls to make a giant pearl necklace. Amy, my cousin's girlfriend kindly supplied the dress and modeled the outfit for me. Doesn't she look gorgeous?!

We had a fun day out taking photos with the lovely backdrop of  House of Dun in Montrose.

And I got an A for the photos, so it was all worth it!

I also had to take a video of the outfit in motion, so we did a little black and white stop start video.

Olympic Outfit

Yesterday the Olympic torch came through my home town Stonehaven. Because nothing happens in this small town, my boyfriend and I thought we ought to go and see it. We stood at his doorstep as it was carried past us before we'd even realised, hence the poor photo...

After getting up early for nothing, we treated ourselves to a breakfast of pancakes and bancon. And in honor of the Olympics being held in the UK I thought I'd dress in our national colours. I'll take any excuse to theme my outfit, or a present, or a party etc.

Peplum Top - H&M
Jeans - Zara
Clutch - GAP (Lovely present from a friend, Thanks Amy!)
Shoes and Watch - Vintage

The Little White Dress

My university has a strict graduation dress code, where students are only allowed to where a white or black dress, or a white shirt and black skirt... seriously limiting my outfit choice!

I decided I wanted to go with the white dress, and looked for something with lace detail.

I found the answer to my prays in the Reiss Anara dress. It's sweet, floral lace detail in the sleeves and the gathered lace panel make it unusual and pretty, but still suitable for the formal occasion.

For the ceremony I am going to wear my Beatrix Ong black high heels. The black will match the gown and the heel is on the smaller side so there is less chance of me tripping on stage... a serious concern of mine.
But for the rest of the day I will change in my high platform nude heels from Carvela.
Next onto a search for the perfect clutch... any suggestions?

Vintage Suitcase DIY

I bought this vintage suitcase years ago in a charity shop but kind of forgot about it. It was a little bit beaten up and damaged, so I decided to cover it in some fabric to brighten it up.

I selected two fabrics with different patterns, but with a similar colour so they harmonised. Then I traced round the suitcase on the reverse side of the fabric and cut out the shape.
I glued down the fabric on both sides and tuck in the edges into the seam of the suitcase.

I am really pleased with the results, it didn't take too long to do and there weren't too many complications!

I did have a little helper - my cat Mishka, although she lost interest after a while and went to sleep.
